The Kala KA-15S-H1 Soprano Ukulele reflects the easy and fun-going Hawaiian culture in both design and tone. The ukulele is reasonably priced making it ideal for beginners. Its body is crafted from top-quality mahogany tonewood that offers a clear low end and midrange, resulting in its soprano voice. The ukulele is fitted with a rosewood fretboard that soaks stray overtones in its oily pores to ensure a warm and articulate tone. Rosewood also gives a lovely woody sensation when you lay fingers on it. The Kala ukulele has a NuBone nut that can take up any sort of pressure to retain the clarity of the tone. There are four geared tuners in the headstock, which can be used for tuning the ukulele.

Meticulous Body Design

To receive the right sound quality, expert luthiers at Kala has applied traditional techniques to construct the ukulele. The use of quality tonewoods and plys make the ukulele resonate its unique tone. Kala has selected mahogany for the main body and neck to get the fundamental warm tone. The mahogany body also provides grind and adds depth to the overall sound quality. The mahogany neck ensures the sound retains its warmth when it travels from the neck to the guitar body.

Rosewood Fretboard and Bridge

A nice balance of warmth and clarity is maintained with the aid of the rosewood fretboard. It enhances the midrange and the low end to provide a full and rounded sound at higher frequencies. The reason behind most musicians preferring rosewood over other similar fretboards is not just the sound, but sensation they get from rosewood as they strum across the strings. The rosewood bridge promises to keep the warmth intact while transferring string vibrations in the body.

NuBone Nut and Aquila Ukulele Strings

The characteristic warm sound of this ukulele is a result of its Aquila ukulele strings. A special Nylgut material is used for these strings, which inherits the qualities of both nylon and gut. Strumming these strings become a pleasant experience in itself. Kala has incorporated the evolutionary nut NuBone in this ukulele. It is made by patented Graph Techs TUSQ material. NuBone shows rigidity under pressure and ensures the ukulele keeps delivering the same sound quality till the end.
